In this Newsletter:
➡️ My top 5 discoveries from the Biohacking Conference in Austin
➡️ How they work + benefits
➡️ My personal experience trying each one
Last week, I flew to Austin, Texas for a very exciting event: Dave Asprey’s Biohacking Conference.
I was expecting innovation - but what I didn’t expect was how much I’d learn in just three days. I got to test cutting-edge tools, chat with experts, and even feel the effects of some therapies immediately.
Here are my top 5 wellness tech finds that stood out - and why I think they’re worth your radar 👇
🫁 Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
What it is:
HBOT involves lying in a sealed chamber while breathing pressurized air. This mild pressure increases the amount of oxygen your body absorbs, even without extra oxygen added.
How it works:
Under pressure, oxygen dissolves more efficiently into plasma (not just red blood cells), flooding your tissues with 10–15x more oxygen than usual.
Top Benefits:
Speeds up recovery and wound healing
Reduces inflammation and supports immune function
Improves cognitive function and fatigue
May increase stem cell activity and collagen production
Used in longevity protocols and athletic performance
My Experience:
I had to get into a chamber that honestly felt like a mini spaceship! You lie down while the pressure builds - you’ll feel your ears pop like on an airplane (I had to do the classic nose-pinch-and-blow trick to equalize). Then you just lie back, breathe normally, and let the oxygen do its magic.
How to use it:
Typically done in 60–90 min sessions. 10–40 sessions for optimal benefits in longevity or healing.
Watch out if:
You have untreated lung issues, sinus infections, respiratory conditions or are pregnant - always consult a physician.
👉 Note: In some chambers, it’s possible to add a mask that delivers pure oxygen for an even greater therapeutic effect.
🌬️ Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Training (IHHT)
What it is:
Training that alternates between low-oxygen and high-oxygen air via a mask to condition your mitochondria (aka the “power plants” of your cells) for better performance.
How it works:
Short bursts of “hypoxia” (low oxygen) activate cellular repair mechanisms and helps your body create new mitochondria - making your cells more efficient and resilient.
Benefits:
Boosts mitochondrial health and ATP (energy)
Enhances metabolic and cardiovascular performance
May reduce biological aging markers
My Experience:
They put a mask over my nose, and I just sat down and breathed. What surprised me was how noticeable it felt when the oxygen composition changed - I could actually feel the shift in my breath. After 30 minutes session, I felt like I’d just finished a solid cardio session, but without breaking a sweat.
How to use it:
2–3 times per week for 4–6 weeks. Protocols vary by machine.
Watch out if:
You’re pregnant, have uncontrolled hypertension, severe anemia, or recent cardiovascular events. Always consult a physician if unsure.
⚡ Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
What it is:
A therapy using electromagnetic waves to stimulate and recharge cells for faster repair and pain relief.
How it works:
PEMF opens ion channels, enhances circulation, and “charges” your cells - helping reduce inflammation and support cellular metabolism.
Benefits:
Reduces pain and inflammation
Speeds up tissue and bone healing
Improves circulation, sleep, and recovery
FDA-approved for some fractures and musculoskeletal pain
My Experience:
I lay down on a special PEMF mat and was wrapped in what felt like a weighted blanket. After a few minutes, I began to feel these tiny pulses through my body - not painful, just rhythmic. It felt like my cells were being gently “woken up.”
How to use it:
15–30 mins daily or as needed. Different frequencies can be used depending on goals (recovery, sleep, etc.).
Caution for:
People with pacemakers, pregnancy, or bleeding disorders. Always consult a physician if unsure.
🦵 Compression Therapy
What it is:
Air-filled sleeves inflate rhythmically to massage your legs, arms, or torso improving lymph flow and reducing muscle soreness.
How it works:
The compression stimulates lymphatic drainage, venous return, and circulation - supporting detox and faster recovery.
Benefits:
Eases muscle soreness and heaviness
Reduces swelling and improves detox
Boosts circulation, great after long travel or workouts
My Experience:
I stepped into the inflatable sleeves and lay down. They started inflating with air and applying pressure from my feet upward. It felt like a full-leg massage - firm but relaxing. When the session ended, my legs felt noticeably lighter, like after a proper lymphatic massage.
How to use it:
20–30 minutes after workouts or travel, a few times per week.
Caution if:
You have deep vein thrombosis (DVT), active wounds, or severe arterial disease. Always consult a physician if unsure.
👉 Bonus: I only tried the leg sleeves, but compression therapy can be used for the whole body. It may also help support abdominal tightening and circulation for women after pregnancy.
✨ NanoVi by Eng3
What it is:
A device that emits “structured” water vapor aimed at enhancing cellular repair and oxidative stress response through bio-signaling.
How it works:
The vapor mimics biological signals that activate repair pathways in the body, especially around protein folding and oxidative damage.
Benefits:
May support mitochondrial repair and protein function
Promotes detox and cellular recovery
Users report better energy, skin, and sleep
My Experience:
This one was simple. You sit in front of a small machine and just inhale the vapor. There’s no strong smell or taste. At first, I felt a little rush in my heart rate - but after a few minutes, I melted into calm. It felt surprisingly relaxing and centering.
How to use it:
20–40 mins daily or after stressful events/workouts.
Safe for most.
No major contraindications noted, but always consult a physician if pregnant, immunocompromised or generally unsure.
🚀 Tech + Basics = Transformation
These tools are exciting — but they work best when paired with strong foundations: sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress management. Think of them as amplifiers, not shortcuts.
👉 Insider Tip: If you’re in the US or Canada, check out Upgrade Labs — they’ve brought together many of the top biohacking tools (like PEMF, IHHT, compression therapy, red light, and more) in one place. You don’t need to attend a conference to try them out!
If you’re new to biohacking, I’d start here:
HBOT if you want deeper healing or recovery from burnout
Compression Therapy for easy daily detox and circulation
PEMF if pain, inflammation, or sleep is an issue
IHHT if you’re looking to upgrade metabolism + energy
You don’t need all 5 to feel the benefits. The key is consistency, tracking, and knowing your body.
Warmly,
Viktorija 💛
